General Members (any McLean band students who attend meetings)

Who can be on Band Council?

ANY 7th or 8th grade band student can be on Band Council and attend our meetings. If you would like to be a Band Council Officer, you need to fill out the application (below). 

Can I be on Band Council without being an officer?

Absolutely! Anyone can be on Band Council. We recommend this for any student who would like to help plan social events, explore a new group of friends, or would just enjoy getting to be involved in BAND more! It's also a great way for 7th graders to check out what each officer position does, and consider what they would like to apply for as an 8th grader.

How do I apply to be a Band Council officer?

If you would like to apply for an OFFICER position, please fill out the application below and email it to Mrs. Martien at [email protected] by Friday, August 27th.

After turning in the application, Mrs. Martien and Mr. Gandy will interview our candidates (this will be an easy interview--we just want to get to know each of you better!!), and then a few selected McLean counselors and administrators will help us review the applications and select the 2021 Band Council.
