Christa Martien, McLean 7/8 Head Director
Email: christa.white@fwisd.org Mrs. Martien is beginning her fifth year of teaching and her first year as Director of Bands at McLean Middle School in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to her current role, she was Assistant Director at Southwest HS for four years, where she taught the Symphonic Band and the Concert Band II as well as assisting regularly at Wedgwood 6th by teaching beginner flute and oboe. Mrs. Martien is from El Paso Texas, where she graduated from Coronado High School under the direction of Kenneth Capshaw. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Music Education. While there, she studied oboe under Dr. Amy Anderson, and actively performed with the Goin' Band from Raiderland, the TTU Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Sarah McKoin, and the TTU Orchestra. Since graduating from TTU, Mrs. Martien has taught at the TTU Band and Orchestra Camp, and has continued to teach private lessons for all woodwind instruments. Mrs. Martien is professionally affiliated with Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Band Masters Association and Sigma Alpha Iota. She currently lives in Fort Worth with her husband, Alex, her dog Podric, and her baby daughter Leighton. Mrs. Martien loves basketball, walking her dog, and spending time with her family. |
Cassandra Reinhart, McLean 7/8 Assistant Director
Email: cassandra.reinhart@fwisd.org Mrs. Reinhart will be starting her third year at McLean and her third year of teaching. She plays french horn, and is from El Paso, Texas, where she graduated from Eastlake High School (first graduating class, 2014) and performed with the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra for two years. She graduated in May, 2019 from Texas Tech University with her Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Cum Laude. While at Texas Tech, Mrs. Reinhart was a 4 year member of the Goin’ Band from Raiderland, a member of the Goin' Band Visual Team, as well as a member of the Symphonic Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Hub City Brass Quintet. She has performed at the Midwest Clinic and Convention with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and at the Chamber Music Festival in Omaha, Nebraska with the brass quintet. She completed her student teaching at Lake Highlands HS and JH, and has also taught several summers at the TTU Band and Orchestra Camp. Her professional affiliations include Pi Kappa Lambda Honorary Music Society, Texas Bandmasters Association and Texas Music Educators Association. Mrs. Reinhart has two cats named after her favorite composers (Ludwig and Gustav), a kitten named Scarlett, a new puppy named Rosie! She currently lives in Fort Worth with her husband, Ross (who is also a middle school band director in FWISD!), and they love to watch hockey, listen to and play music, and to cook and eat all kinds of different cuisine! |
Lindsey Traughber, McLean 6 Director
Email: lindsey.traughber@fwisd.org Mrs. Traughber is starting her 8th year at McLean 6th Grade Center and 19th year teaching. Prior to that, she has taught with both High School and Middle School bands consistently earning sweepstakes at UIL contest. Beginning band has always been a constant throughout her teaching, and continues to be an area of expertise and fun for her. In coming to McLean 6, she gets to teach the foundation and future of the McLean Middle School and Paschal High School Bands. Mrs. Traughber went to Burleson High School where she was a 3 year TMEA All State Clarinetist and then to West Texas A&M University. At WTAMU, she was a student of Gary Garner, Doug Storey, Russ Teweleit, and Don Lefevre. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Her professional affiliations are with Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association. Mrs. Traughber lives in Saginaw with her husband Brian, who is an animation teacher at The Keller Center for Advanced Learning. Together, they have 4 children, Nolan who is 8, identical twins Clark and Miles who are 6, and Jack who would have been 9 this year. They also have 2 dachshunds named Marnie Moo and Bossy Pants. |
