Christa Martien, McLean 7/8 Head Director
Email: [email protected] Mrs. Martien is beginning her fifth year of teaching and her first year as Director of Bands at McLean Middle School in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to her current role, she was Assistant Director at Southwest HS for four years, where she taught the Symphonic Band and the Concert Band II as well as assisting regularly at Wedgwood 6th by teaching beginner flute and oboe. Mrs. Martien is from El Paso Texas, where she graduated from Coronado High School under the direction of Kenneth Capshaw. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Music Education. While there, she studied oboe under Dr. Amy Anderson, and actively performed with the Goin' Band from Raiderland, the TTU Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Sarah McKoin, and the TTU Orchestra. Since graduating from TTU, Mrs. Martien has taught at the TTU Band and Orchestra Camp, and has continued to teach private lessons for all woodwind instruments. Mrs. Martien is professionally affiliated with Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Band Masters Association and Sigma Alpha Iota. She currently lives in Fort Worth with her husband, Alex, her dog Podric, and her baby daughter Leighton. Mrs. Martien loves basketball, walking her dog, and spending time with her family. |
Lindsey Traughber, McLean 6 Director
Email: [email protected] Mrs. Traughber is starting her 11th year at McLean 6th Grade Center and 22nd year teaching. Prior to that, she taught at both the High School and Middle School level consistently earning sweepstakes at UIL contests. Beginning band has always been a constant throughout her teaching career and continues to be an area of expertise and fun for her. In teaching at McLean 6, she gets to teach the foundation and future of the McLean Middle School and Paschal High School Bands. Mrs. Traughber went to Burleson High School where she was a 3 year TMEA All State Clarinetist. Upon graduation, she attended West Texas A&M University. At WTAMU, she was a student of Gary Garner, Doug Storey, Russ Teweleit, and Don Lefevre. She was a member of the prestigious Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Buffalo Marching Band. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Her professional affiliations are with Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association. Mrs. Traughber lives in Saginaw with her husband Brian, who is an animation teacher at The Keller Center for Advanced Learning. Together, they have 4 children, Nolan who is 11, identical twins Clark and Miles who are 9, and Jack who would have been 12 this year. They also have 2 dachshunds named Bossy Pants and Kinker Pup. Mrs. Traughber loves all things Disney, cooking, and traveling with her family. |
