Sarah Chance, McLean 7/8 Head Director
Sarah Chance is beginning her sixth year of teaching and her third year as Director of Bands at McLean Middle School in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to her current role, she was Assistant Director at McLean MS for two years and Band Director at Venus Middle School in Venus, TX for one year. Mrs. Chance graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2014 with a Bachelor of Music Education, with Distinction. While there, she studied clarinet under Dr. Suzanne Tirk and Jozsef Balogh, and actively performed with the Pride of Oklahoma, the OU Wind Symphony, and the OU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. William Wakefield, Brian Britt, and Dr. Jonathan Shames. Mrs. Chance was selected to perform at the Interharmony Music Festival in Arcidosso, Italy in 2013. She was also involved in local and state music education organizations, including holding the office of President in the Collegiate Oklahoma Music Educator’s Association. Since graduating from OU, Mrs. Chance has taught at the UTA Leadership and Drum Major Camp, and performed with the Mansfield Wind Symphony. She has also presented to the TCU Music Educator's Association as well as the SMU/Sam Houston State Art of Teaching Music Workshop.
Mrs. Chance is professionally affiliated with Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Band Masters Association and Sigma Alpha Iota, and serves as the Region 5 Middle School Band Chair and McLean Middle School Fine Arts Department Chair. She currently lives in Fort Worth with her husband, Josh, and their 3 cats and 2 dogs. They share a love of band, college football, The Office, and the Texas Rangers.
Cassandra Reinhart, McLean 7/8 Assistant Director
Mrs. Reinhart plays french horn, and is from El Paso, Texas, where she graduated from Eastlake High School (first graduating class, 2014) and performed with the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra for two years. She graduated in May, 2019 from Texas Tech University with her Bachelor of Music in Music Education, cum laude. While at Texas Tech, Ms. Saucedo was a 4 year member of the Goin’ Band from Raiderland, a member of the Goin' Band Visual Team, as well as a member of the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and the Hub City Brass Quintet. She completed her student teaching at Lake Highlands HS and JH, and has also taught several summers at the TTU Band and Orchestra Camp. She is a member of Tau Beta Sigma, Pi Kappa Lambda Honorary Music Society, and Texas Music Educators Association.
Mrs. Reinhart has two cats named after her favorite composers (Ludwig and Gustav), a kitten named Scarlett, and her favorite food is burgers, thai food, and anything dark chocolate! She loves to cook and bake in her free time, and watch and play sports with her husband, Ross (who she recently married in July 2019!)
Lindsey Traughber, McLean 6 Director
Mrs. Traughber is starting her 7th year at McLean 6th Grade Center and 18th year teaching. Prior to that, she has taught with both High School and Middle School bands consistently earning sweepstakes at UIL contest. Beginning band has always been a constant throughout her teaching, and continues to be an area of expertise and fun for her. In coming to McLean 6, she gets to teach the foundation and future of the McLean Middle School and Paschal High School Bands. Mrs. Traughber went to Burleson High School where she was a 3 year TMEA All State Clarinetist and then to West Texas A&M University. At WTAMU, she was a student of Gary Garner, Doug Storey, Russ Teweleit, and Don Lefevre.. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Her professional affiliations are with Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.
Mrs. Traughber lives in Saginaw with her husband Brian, who is an animation teacher at The Keller Center for Advanced Learning. Together, they have 4 children, Nolan who is 7, identical twins Clark and Miles who are 5, and Jack who would have been 8 this year. They also have 2 dachshunds named Marnie Moo and Bossy Pants.
